Shout out to everyone who has ever hurt me. Thank you to everyone who doubted me. Without you, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today. You prepared me for the callus world we live in. You forced me to develop the self confidence I now have. You forced me to be my own biggest fan. You made me love myself when I thought it was your love that would make me feel whole. You made me great. I appreciate you.
I looked out of the window, onto a construction site and saw a man praying. I was so surprised, intrigued, proud and compelled. My first thought was, “why is this man kneeling on the dirty ground?” I then realized his shoes were off and he was praying. I became overwhelmed with emotion, noting that it was amazing to see the faith of a human being demonstrated in such a dedicated way. Amongst all the debris, he simply chose a spot to pray, and did so in the most eloquent way. It was beautiful. FAITH is beautiful, no matter the one you choose.
As you guys know from my previous post, “I love my hair, IDC IDC,” I have stopped relaxing my hair. I am finally beginning to learn how to treat and style my transitioning hair. (YouTube has been a huge help!) Yesterday, I decided to take a shot at Bantu Knots because my hair seemed untamable and here are my results this am. I must say, I’m happy and am excited to learn new ways to treat and style my natural hair.
